• Our webpage is in both Spanish and English and we use the WPML plugin to manage content in each language. The Yoast WordPress SEO plugin seems to allow us to set the title, focus keyword and meta description for each variation (Spanish & English) of the pages, which is great. I wanted to make sure that yoast is compatible with WPML (and with multi-language sites in general) and that I’m not missing anything. Is there something I need to be aware of when using Yoast WordPress SEO for a multi-language wordpress site?

By default the WPML plugin sets the url of our Spanish pages to “web.ondore.com/pagename/?lang=es”. Since this is a parameter rather than a distinct url my hunch is that it’s not ideal for good SEO. How is Yoast establishing diatinct SEO titles and meta descriptions if the English and Spanish pages don’t have distinct urls? We are trying to change the format to “en.ondore.com” & es.ondore.com but WPML is being difficult.

    Thanks!
