• YARPP is being rather a bad boy on my site. I have set various match thresholds all the way up to 10 and told him not to consider anything else but the category. I told him the related post _must_ match the category. And you know what? He completely ignores me and does his own thing! 5 posts and all of them in different categories. I don’t know. What am I to do with him?

  • Hmm, that’s odd. Is YARPP actually saving its settings if you revisit the YARPP options page?

    hey mitcho.
i really cant find a thread that covers what i am dealing with. i hope you read this old one.

I cannot get YARRP to reset. it seems that something is stuck in the settings, and even if i DELETE the plug in and reinstall it. all the old settings are still there. I have tried &action=flush but that didn’t do anything.

the plug in acted weird from the beginning. it was adding lists to the sidebar, when i didnt activate the widget, and now i am also using recent posts slider. and if i dont select the option on YARRP to automatically show posts, then the Recent post slider doesnt work. and if i do check the option to automatically show posts then i get 2 different related post sections. I even thought to just do a cheap CSS display:none for YARRP, but I cant find the div id.

Also, I have the same problem as Terence. if i choose match category, i get none found. i have to set my setting at 2 and then some are found. any ideas?
    thanks so much.
    Wendy

@wendygordon it sounds like this is a weird interaction with the recent posts slider or some other plugin you’re using. YARPP by itself will never add its code twice on a page, and definitely won’t mess with your sidebar. Note, though, that the &action=flush trick is only to reset the YARPP results. It doesn’t reset the YARPP options.

In the future, please create a new thread for new topics.
