Hi, I am curious if the algorithm you use is language dependend or not. I am asking because I have a website with 500+ items and the related items are not quite correctly pulled by YARRP.
Most of the time unrelated items are listed and related items are not listed at all.
My site is in Romanian language. I disabled the plugin pending further investigation.

No it is not language-dependent, though it may have difficulty on languages without spaces between words. Romanian does, though.
I suggest you try tweaking the "Relatedness" options, perhaps heavily weighing tags if your site uses them effectively. You can do this in the latest beta: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/yet-another-related-posts-plugin.3.5b4.zip
