when I look at my website's sitemap.xml I get this error

Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred (805303f4)
    http://myoldURLname.com/wp-content/plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-with-qtranslate-support/sitemap.xsl

.....where myoldURLname = what my website's URL used to be.

I don't even have this directory that it's referring to.

I'm pretty sure you had the plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-with-qtranslate-support/ installed before this one, correct? If so, it has created a static sitemap.xml file in your site root. You need to remove that file before my plugin can do anything... (it's in the FAQ's and Installation instructions, step 4)

I think it's a good bet I had it installed before.
I have found and removed the file and the error has gone, but I cannot as yet see a sitemap (I guess it may take a small while to make)

I would like to say a big thank you for your quick support. I had a problem years back working out how to use your plugin before and even then I remember you were very helpful, very quickly.

    Bless you!

No, there will never be a file created. The sitemap is dynamic, just like a feed or like the /robots.txt 'file' (if you do not have a physical file in your site root called robots.txt then WordPress still handles requests for it and generates output -- that's what the Settings > Privacy admin page settings are for)

Please check the URL of your website yourdomain.ext/robots.txt to see if the sitemap location yourdomain.ext/sitemap.xml (or other, depending on your Permalink structure and possible Multi-language plugin) is mentioned correctly. Then check the actual sitemap URL to see if there is a sitemap output...

Again, this is all on http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/xml-sitemap-feed/installation/ and if you find that it does not work like it should, please consult the http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/xml-sitemap-feed/faq/
