  • I am assuming that you want it compressed before downloading it.

    To do that, you would need to have access to the file through your host provider via a cpanel like interface, using a file manager. The file manager should allow you to compress the file to one of several formats, zip being one of them; and then download the zip file through the file manager as well.

    If you are wanting to convert the .tar file after it has been downloaded to your computer via XCloner, in Windows, right click the file and hover over “Send To” and click “Compressed (zipped) Folder” in the popout menu.
