  • Cool tut for the plugin… just a bit of terminology…

That’s not responsive at all. What you are doing, is serving up a different theme for mobile users, using detection

Responsive design is one theme, which repositions and resizes elemsnts based on browser size

So you can actually take the browser window and slowly resize it, and watch things reposition and resize… no different theme, all handled by css

2011 is an example. If you look at the bottom of the style.css, you will see different rules called based on the size of the viewing window

so the sidebars reposition, they no longer float, elements resize, etc. Responsive design is definitely cool, something I’m just getting a handle on!

Not criticizing your efforts, tutorials are always welcme!

Thanks for the clarification. That makes a lot of sense. I’ve renamed the blog entry and removed the responsive design bit. Maybe I’ll have a take two next week where I really try something more responsive. 🙂

Its kind of fun when you get into it! And you really can do a lot! You should be able to find a lot of helpful tuts about responsive WP design

    Awesome tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
