[Plugin: WPtouch] Error 404 when changing to desktop site (6 posts)

When I change back to the desktop version on my phone, the site 404's. The URL shown is just /blog/ as you would expect to type in to get to the site but a 404 message appears. The site continues to work fine on a desktop browser.

I'm using a custom template but even on a default theme it does the same thing.

Activating the switch refreshes the same url so if the page displays once, it should display a second time. There may be a problem with another active plugin disrupting the process.

To isolate which plugin(s) may be contributing to the trouble, deactivate all except WPtouch from within the WordPress Plugins area, clear your browser cache and local data, then test.

If WPtouch functions well, you may then enable the rest of your plugins one at a time, repeating the process, until you can identify which is/are causing the problem.

I've since discovered it is for some reason redirecting to https not http when it returns after turning off the plugin on a mobile. There is no https version of this site and I see no option to turn this off. If I then remove https and make it http again, it works fine and I then see the desktop site.

The same applies with all plugins except wptouch disabled too.

    Thanks

    Hi abyssunderground,

You can share the URL of your website and we'll gladly take a look for you. Thanks.

Has this been solved yet? My site is doing the same thing. The whole site is HTTP, but for some reason when wptouch switches out of the mobile theme... it redirects to HTTPS.

Where is wptouch getting the "home page" url from?

Where is wptouch getting the "home page" url from?

WPtouch respects the Reading settings in WordPress. Thought it can override those by selecting a custom landing page.

Do you have any SSL-related plugins active at all on your setup?
