   when I activate a theme, I get this error:

   if I go back and refresh the new theme has been set,...

   Same here. I'm using sitepress-multilingual-cms on WPMU.

   Cannot modify header information - headers already sent

   I've seen a lot of posts for a wide range of scripts, themes, and plugins that say this is caused by a space or line return after a closing ?> php tag in a file - could be worth checking for that.
