FB does cache things, but if it is still showing after 10-15 minutes it may be a bug – let us know

    Hi,

It’s been showing about a day. If I move the share buttons to the top and then the bottom, that takes effect in a few minutes so it looks like unchecking the pages box doesn’t turn it off. Anything I can do to help debug it?

    see: http://apps.facebook.com/orbitdata for reference.

    Thanks,

    Craig

Ok, so the logic is a bit wonky here.

If you enable the checkbox which is labelled “Enable Pages”, you see two further options: one for “Display menu of parent pages at top of application” and a second for “Show a list of pages below content.”

If you enable “Enable Pages” but uncheck both of the two child options, i think you’ll get the behavior you want.

So what’s off is that if you uncheck “Enable Pages” itself, you get the menu of pages at the top?

Or, maybe you need to “Enable Pages” to see and uncheck the two suboptions, then save those changes, then uncheck “Enable Pages” again?

I was able to suppress pages entirely on Open Parenthesis and I think that was what did it – making sure first to uncheck to sub options then after saving those changes to uncheck the enable pages “section” as a whole.

Probably we need to wrap our if statements – if “Enable Pages” is false, then it should not matter if “show pages menu” or “show pages list” are true.

i can do that, and it will be in the next version

Re-enabling the pages box and then unchecking the sub-boxes AND unchecking the pages box fixes it. So, unless all the boxes are unchecked, it doesn’t disable.

    Thanks,

Just checked in – will only show the pages menu if both “Enable pages” AND “show pages menu” are both true.

Will be in next release, or if you don’t want to wait grab the development release from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpbook/download – in 30 minutes or so.
