    Hi Tareq

Love the new update of your plugin, however.

When clicking on the "Attachent" and/or "Featured Image" as well as "Insert/Upload" links on both the "New Post" and "Edit Post" function pages it jumps to the top of the page but does not open any uploading function. I have tried this in various themes and for Contributor and Author level users but no luck.

I am using this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/logged-in-user-shortcode/ on the same pages to display further instructions only to logged in users (don't know if that could cause problems).

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Hi All.

It looks as if the new WordPress 3.4 is at least partly to blame for this problem. After rolling back to WP3.2 I see that the Upload function do work for one image at a time, i.e. the user can submit a post with one attachement initially, then each time while editing they can submit one more,..

Feature image submit still don't work for me.

Great job on the interface and the ability to rename the title of the image. This is such a cool plugin if we can only iron out these few issues.

    Thanks Tareq

    Hi All

I forgot to update this thread. Everything seems to work fine now with latest WordPress 3.4.1 and User Frontend plugin version 1.1. The only problem I see now is with Internet Explorer which only allow one image upload to the gallery at a time. Upon updating the post you can add additional images until the quota is met.

In Firefox, Chrome and Safari everyting works perfect. @lucii try using a differnet browser and update WP to 3.4.1 and the plugin to Version 1.1. This works great for me.

I have the same problem, even though I´m using WP 3.4.1 and version 1.1 of the plugin.
Nothing happens when I click "Upload Image"; nothing happens. I just get a # at the end of the URL in the address field of Safari.

What did you do to solve the problem @Profusion?

    /Jens

I just installed version 1.1 on WP 3.4.1 and click Upload Image and Attach and nothing happens it does the same thing that waboom is mentioning, appends a # and then takes me to top of page, like the js isn't firing almost. Any eta on support for this?

*EDIT - Also noticed the following in error console:

    Timestamp: 7/13/2012 9:49:08 AM
Error: $("#wpuf-attachment-upload-filelist").on is not a function
    Source File: http://mywebsite/wp-content/plugins/wp-user-frontend/js/attachment.js?ver=3.4.1
    Line: 8

Some JavaScript errors are obviously there, use firebug in firefox or developer tools in chrome to see if there's any error.

Try using the latest version of jQuery if you are getting the error $("#wpuf-attachment-upload-filelist").on is not a function. It needs jQuery version >= 1.7.0

me too. I think the problem is when the shortcode is located in widget area. In that case seems the plupload script not loaded.

    Hi Tareq,
I am using latest version of wordpress which is 3.4.2 and Upload/Insert Button is not working on front-end for me.. i tried firebug to find issue and getting this

    <a id="new-post-desc-add_media" class="thickbox add_media" onclick="return false;" title="Add Media" href="http://www.adswapsoloads.com/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=0&TB_iframe=1&width=640&height=250">

there are two issues: onclick="return false;" which should be return true and it is not detecting post id and showing post id 0

In my site , the form submitted successfully, photo get attached in media library, but it not showing in the post.
When I go to media library, I am seeing that its saying "Unattached" in Attached to column.

So actually the problem is that form is working well and photo is being added to media library also. But it not showing up in the post.

In the post on which I have added the form code [wpuf_addpost] there is showing Format option in right side. Do I need to change option in it? Please somebody help me.I have added the link to the screenshot for this.

    Thanks

I think it would be much better if we could simply load the default Media Uploader from WordPress rather than try to replace it with other upload systems that require tons of dev and come with obvious compatibility issues.

Hello everyone, who are having problems with featured images and attachments, that aren't working under wp user frontend:
I'd the same problems until I activated those functions in my wp theme (Mantra). Little thing - big consequences. My advice for you: Check this first.

    Hi Lowerpower

You could share what you did without giving away your project, that would help alot of people

    Thanks,

    Hello Applegateian,
I do what i can. The best is the code, given from the programmer like Tareq. The rest are the settings. So if someone has an affort in those things that I adjusted, I give it away. And if my project's going online, i'll keep you informed about that example. Any questions left:?)

FWIW - I found a solution that works for me.
It does a lot more than I was hoping for but it also solves the upload problem I was having. If someone decides to use the "fork" there is an issue with WordPress showing a notification to upgrade the plugin. In the wpuf.php it will show "version 1.1-fork-2RRR-4.0". Therefore, WordPress.org thinks the fork is an earlier version of the WP User Frontend.

I simply moved the "-fork-2RRR-4.0" to the description so that it shows "This is fork-2RRR-4.0 by Professor99 which includes a downgrade function to retun to the original author's version if this fork does not work the way you want it to." and the WordPress upgrade notification no longer happens because the only thing that shows on the "version" line is 1.1 (which is the current version of WP User Frontend (at the time of this posting)).

I have an active site that I needed a solution for and the fork offered by professor99 works for me. I thought I would share it.

Here is the link in the support forum for the fork of WP User Frontend.
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/frontend-updates-2rrr-fork

I hope this helps someone else.

I've given up. Been asking for 6 months so I am now using ACF http://www.advancedcustomfields.com/ plugin and styling the backend for users. It's a lot easier.

    Hi applegateian,

I'll give that a look as well. I looked at the tutorial and it seems a lot of custom setting up. I don't like having to edit the theme functions.php file to get a plugin to work.

But, I am open to it using a child theme if it is worth the trouble.

There are some things I would like to do that the ACF plugin might make possible, but for what I use the WP User Frontend for, it is working quite well with a small glitch printing the contents of one of the labels. But that's minor and I can fix that. The main thing is the uploads and featured image problems, that the fork seems to have fixed.

    Hi sushidread,

what about your wp uf settings? Who's your post author and have you enabled 'featured image upload' (both under 'Frontend Postings')?

    What's the error message saying?

    Greetings,lp.
