WP to Twitter
Unexpected tweet (11 posts)

This is a great plugin and seems to work very well, but in the past day or so an old page was tweeted as new, even though it wasn't new and it wasn't edited. Is there anything outside of directly touching a page that would have it tweeted by WP to Twitter?

A couple of possibilities, if you have the comment tweet feature enabled or the mass editor features enabled. Is that the case?

    Thanks Joe for responding.

The comment tweet feature is disabled and was never enabled.

By "mass editor features", do you mean "Allow status updates from Quick Edit"? That's also disabled and was never enabled.

Yes, I did - but clearly not the issue. Curious. I have to think about this. I can't think of any reason this might have happened, beyond those already mentioned.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Maybe there's a background process that updates a page, and that's counted as an edit. Perhaps a plugin I have edits the page in an automated way. I don't know offhand what plugin could be doing this, though. Does this sound plausible?

That's certainly plausible - plug-ins can do an awful lot of stuff on your site. If you submit the built-in support request, it will send me a list of your plug-ins, and I can see if there's anything I notice.

OK, I'll do that. Note that I've added and removed some plugins recently due to updating the site, so it's possible the culprit won't be in the list. I'll send the support request shortly.

I just sent the support request, but it took me to a 404 page. I hope you got the request.

Don't see it. What is the name of the site it would have come from?

Hmmm, I'll just write this off as an anomaly for now so we can address the reporting issues I'm seeing. I'll start a separate topic.
