Greetings:
I have a DRAFT page, in which I've installed a 1-col x 45-row table. In each cell I install a graphic image (500 x 95 pixels). Need to allow site visitor to click on the image as a "new browser window" link to another page, post or URL. Cannot find information on "how-to" set the image as a link.
Using PC, XP-PRO, IE-8, WP-3.3.1. http://wp.joshuatreestar.com. Draft page is saved as a test table but not "published" until problem is solved.
I've loaded only 5 graphic images as a test. Have 43 images to install in the table.
Additional question: I plan ANOTHER table, 3-col x "x" rows in which will be ordered-text in col one, a single word (MAP) in col two and a graphic or photo image (not linked to anywhere) in col three. Can I use the word "MAP" in col-2 as a link to a graphic street map that opens in a new browser window?
Not a "programmer" with sufficient knowledge of CSS, JS, or HTML. Can I add html to the end of the existing image's html link data as shown in the table while editing the table, to continue displaying the image until visitor clicks on image to get to target information on another page, post or URL? If "yes", can you give me a sample of what the html code should look like?
Each image or "word" used as a link should automatically open a new browser window at the site visitor's computer.
The purpose of these tables is to provide visitors/tourists to our Mojave Desert area (Joshua Tree, southern California) with FREE information on where to find things, stores, groceries, auto repair, sights, medical care and other human resources by displaying the enterprise name, address, phone, (etc (an ordered list in col-1)) and where the enterprise is located as displayed on a local street map image.
My 'blog' site is a free public service with no advertising on the site or other income. But, I'd be happy to contribute to your kind efforts if I can get this table to function as I envision it.
Thank you for your potential help.
