Do you mean the notifications on "you have a new message"?
If so, these will be template driven, but aren't at the moment - but on the list! :)

You're talking about using a template and yes, it's on the list. Those in use are - to be frank - there from early days to get "something" working, and need to be improved. And what better way than to provide a default, but let site admin's tailor then as their own.

    Thanks for the feedback venug.

Thanks for your quick reply!Symposium is really a nice plugin and I wonder such a great plugin is created just by a single person.I hope it would be updated with some more features like ...advanced forum moderation, handling personal message permissions based on member roles etc.

I got this via email, but not appeared here so copying

I am sure, I didn't send any email regarding this topic.I have posted it here directly

Yes!I can edit the plugin files to customize. But I am unable to find the exact files to edit the notification mails.I found some other files, but they are not related to mail notifications. That's why I have opened this forum post for your help.Could you please tell me the exact file to edit customize the notifications we send?

Thanks for your help and providing us the useful plugin!

Sure - at the moment you can edit the mail template in the symposium_functions.php file, look for the symposium_sendmail function (you can remove the powered_by call).

For the actual mail body text, it is created in symposium_mail.php, search for the // Send real email if chosen comment and look at the code below.

The daily notification is sent in wp_symposium.php - search for 'Daily Digest' and see the code below. (the daily digest will be improved, it's not that great at the moment I admit).

Code does change each upgrade (or maybe part of it) so keep a copy of your changes...

    Hope that helps.
