After pretty much a whole day I managed to set up the plug in and it works. However, it only works so long as you dont leave your profile.
If you go from profile to the main WP blog it logs you out.
The PDF manual for the plugin, though fairly exhaustive, is still incredibly vauge as to what to do with the profile sub menu shortcodes. There are no settings for these, like with the other pages, and there is no distinction made as to how the usage is different. I took the initiative to add them to pages, some of them work, others don't. So I couldn't use the profile menu as some of the links don't go anywhere. (be nice if you could select which links to show) So I made a custom menu for the ones that worked.
Everthing was good untill I went back to the main blog and discovered I was logged out.
I disabled each plugin one at a time, untill I was down to just the user profile with no options, ...no change. Still forcing a log out.
The plugin also caused my slideshows and image thick box to stop working, I disabled them, but I still got the forcrd logout.
It's too bad, having members profile and options pages as actual pages has advantages over buddypress for customizing those areas. Too bad I had to waste so much time, but hopefully someone will address the issues.
These problems were consistant regardless of JQuery.
I'm using a theme called P2.
