Support » Plugins » [Plugin: WP Supercache] doesn’t regenerate .htaccess by reloading

  • Hello,

I’m still wondering about my slow site since last update of WP to 2.9.2. I may found some small slow down causer by checking site with firebug, what cleans up the site indeed a lil’ bit, but there seems to be still a big frog in the channel. Then I found out, the WP supercache doesn’t work properly by checking loading times with on/off. Going to its WP supercache manager in the plugin options panel, made me realizing an error message saying:

    Rewrite rules must be updated

The rewrite rules required by this plugin have changed or are missing. Mobile support requires extra rules in your .htaccess file, or you can set the plugin to half-on mode. Here are your options (in order of difficulty):

    1. Set the plugin to half on mode and enable mobile support.
    2. Delete the plugin mod_rewrite rules in /xxx/xxx/xxxxxxx/hp/xxxxx/.htaccess enclosed by # BEGIN WPSuperCache and # END WPSuperCache and let the plugin regenerate them by reloading this page.
    3. Warning: printf() [function.printf]: Too few arguments in /xxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxxxxx/hp/xxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache.php on line 408

I wonder why this comes up now, because I run mobile support with mobile edition since ages? Following the step 2 made me realizing another questionmark. In my .htaccess file there are 2 different cache sections. A # WP SuperCache one, and a # supercache one. How that? After deleting the # WP SuperChache enclosed section and refreshing the page, sadly nothing happend (.htaccess part of # WP SuperCache doesn’t appear).

Now I am sitting here, having still same error messages from wihtin the WP SuperCache options panel, having still a slow site, and having still a .htaccess file, maybe with a # supercache section, but without having a regenerated # WP SuperCache section, because it won’t regenerate its parts.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Is this # supercache part still needed, or is it an obselete part of my .htacces file from another cache plugin or from another try of WP or myself? (2 years live site)

Why the WP SuperChache isn’t refreshing its parts from the .htaccess file, like it promises after advising you to delete the parts from .htaccess file?
