When I check the "Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors. (Recommended)", .htaccess rules should change or be different?

Because they don't. and I think I'm always serving gziped files, which my server doesnt handle well and goes high CPU.

I think this section activate the gzip and removing it will stop serving gziped files, is this right?

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^.*[^/]$
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^.*//.*$
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !POST
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*=.*
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Cookie} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress_logged_in|wp-postpass_).*$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Wap-Profile} !^[a-z0-9\"]+ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Profile} !^[a-z0-9\"]+ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Encoding} gzip
    RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/nfs/c01/h08/mnt/44274/domains/gusleig.com/html/sos/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/sos/$1/index.html.gz -f
    RewriteRule ^(.*) "/nfs/c01/h08/mnt/44274/domains/gusleig.com/html/sos/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/sos/$1/index.html.gz" [L]

BTW Im having a lot of high cpu problems since last update. Should I do the auto update or remove everything and update manually?

Files are compressed once, when cached. When they're served it's just like any other file. The .htaccess rules for compressed files are written there regardless of the compression settings. To avoid writing multiple times to the .htaccess, in case things go wrong writing them ..

Thank you for your response Donncha. What about the upgrade? Should I do the auto plugin update or do it manually? Whats the best procedure?

Auto update will work just fine.
