I can't seem to get Super-Cache to work..??.. This is my first WP experience... so I'm assuming that I've just missed a step or ~whatever ... although it seemed pretty straight-forward to just upload / install / activate / enable caching.

This is the message I get when I click the "Test Cache":

    Things you can do:

Load your homepage in a logged out browser, check the timestamp at the end of the html source. Load the page again and compare the timestamp. Caching is working if the timestamps match.

Enable logging on the Debug page here. That should help you track down the problem.

You should check Page 1 and Page 2 above for errors. Your local server configuration may not allow your website to access itself.

?? Not sure what it means to --> "Load your homepage in a logged out browser...

Comments / suggestions... greatly appreciated! I'm experiencing a 7-12sec response time for EVERY click. Totally unacceptable... no one will stay on a website with that kind of response time.

Log out of WordPress and load your blog. That's what "logged out browser" means.

OK -- I'm not using WP as a blog... but as an e-commerce website.

Do you mean just launch the website without the wp-admin system running?

    I checked the source code and I don't see any 'time-stamps' -- ??--

BTW: I've also noticed this !Warning! msg: ...wp-content is writeable! in the wp-admin system. Is this related to the install of Super Cache..??..

I had contacted our host about this Warning! msg and also described that I was having issues getting Super Cache to work. They responded back that Super Cache requires WP to be on a UNIX server... whereas our account/website is on a Windows server... which is news to me.

    The same problem:
The pages do not match! Timestamps differ or were not found!

I see that caching is working correctly (on really pages), just on test pages (1.html, 2.html) timestamp is not generated.

As out that this is plugin bug?

fader27 - if it works when you manually check it then don't worry. It's probably a local configuration issue, and not the plugin.

Donncha, I have 2 WP blogs (with same vhost conf) on this webserver.

First under WP 3.3.1 - super cache test passed.
Second uner WP 3.1.4 - super cache test not passed.

    everything else was the same.
