• So, I updated to the latest version (0.8.7) of wp-super-cache today, and then discovered I (oddly) had 700-800 expired pages, so I tried to clear my cache.

It clears approximately 100 expired pages (which, I know, is what it is supposed to do), but then it throws an error and doesn’t let the settings page load again.

Right above where the “clear cache” button is supposed to be, it gives the following message:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/critica4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase2.php on line 352

The line number changes sometimes (I believe it said 361 before), but it does this every time.

It then stops loading the settings page, so I can’t just keep clicking “clear” until it finishes. And refreshing doesn’t reload the page completely (it keeps the error, and still doesn’t load anything after it), so you need to go up to the menu, select the settings page again, and repeat the process.

    But here’s the kicker.

I went to uninstall the plugin and revert to a prior version (0.8.6, though I was using 0.8.5 before this), so I go to the plugins page and click deactivate.

It thinks for a while, and then throws the same error and doesn’t deactivate!

I had to go in by ftp and delete the folder to deactivate it.

    Thoughts?
