WP Super Cache
Sidebar login and admin bar issue (5 posts)

I just upgraded to 3.3, and have an issue with users logging out. When a user has logged out and then revisits a page that was already visited, the admin bar still shows at the top of the screen and the sidebar login still shows the user being logged in. Clicking on any links, though, will take the person to the wordpress login page, so the logout process is actually working. It just appears that the cache shows the same page whether the user is logged in or not.

I know this could be the result of settings or plugin conflicts, but have you seen this behavior before?

    Thanks.
    Jeff

Yeah, I have seen this. The page is cached by the browser. Does this happen if caching is disabled? Do you have any front end caching like Squid or Varnish on your site?

No caching other than the WP Super Cache.

Are you talking about disabling caching on the browser or on Super Cache? To disable, I am assuming I just uncheck the "Cache hits to this website for quick access. (Recommended)" Anything else to disable? You don't mean deactivate the plugin, right?

I do have the "Only refresh current page when comments made." block checked, if that is relates. Same setting as before I updated to 3.3 though.

Interestingly, this doesn't happen on my homepage (it is static), just on the other posts.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Try removing the sidebar login form. That sets a cookie that could be disrupting things.

    Donncha,

I tried clearing the cache in chrome, and the pages displayed as expected. I think you are right about it being a sidebar login issue than a WP Super Cache issue.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

    Regards,
    Jeff
