• I started using this plug in after it was recommended by my hosts when my blog was suspended because of a high load on the server. I won’t pretend to understand it, I’m not sure whether I’ve ticked the right boxes or not in the manager it’s all like a foreign language to me.

I’m running the blog as an article directory and when an article is submitted it used to appear on the home page straight away. When I use this plug in it doesn’t automatically happen, I usually have to go into the manager and click on delete expired to get the latest articles to go to the home page and if that doesn’t work enable the Super Cache Compression then disable it. I’ve tried the garbage collection at varying amounts including 300 seconds.

I deactivated the plug in because of this but had to activate it again when my hosts suspended it again when somebody caused a high load trying to use submission software.

Has anybody got an idea how I can resolve this, or is there a guide for dummies like me who doesn’t really understand what caches are?

  • You might also have to clear the cache in your internet browser to see the latest updates to your site. Hitting ctrl+F5 performs a hard refresh.

When an article is submitted, make sure it fires off the publish_post action. That will clear the front page.

Clearing the cache in the internet browser isn’t the problem nor is articles not getting published. Yesterday morning the home page was exactly the same as it was when I last saw it the evening before. I had to delete the expired pages before I could get my authors articles submitted and published overnight to display on the home page.

I think that I probably haven’t filled the manager in properly. I have only ticked a few of the boxes because I don’t understand most of it, that’s why I was asking if there was a guide for dummies like me.
