The current version is dated 2011-01-07 - and I installed as an update on the same day.

Unfortunately it caused me some problems - visitors could see earlier commenter's email addresses - and so I have uninstalled it.

Can you please confirm that 0.9.9.8 Last Updated: 2010-11-23 is the one on the download link?

    Thanks

The current version is 0.9.9.8, released a few days ago. Did you try PHP mode rather than mod_rewrite mode?

Hi Donncha - thanks for getting back to me so quickly. No, I didn't try PHP mode, I just did a straight update.

One of my site visitors took a screenshot of the page showing the problem.

Are you using mod_rewrite mode? I see you have id=xxxx at the end of the url. Does that mean you're using legacy caching? Do you have lots of wp-cache-* files like was mentioned in the other thread?

Yes - I was using the mod_rewrite mode. I was not using legacy caching, the id=xxxxxx is something I added to my permalink structure to get posts on Google News.

The site has 892 posts and 9 pages.

When you look in the supercache directory do the directories in it have the id=xxxx text in them?

You could also enable "Don't cache pages for known users". Pages served to commentors won't be cached.

Re: supercache directory - unfortunately I emptied the cache and deleted it when I uninstalled the plugin last evening.

Re: don't cache pages for known users - I'm going to use the XAMPP setup on my PC to see if I can replicate the problem and install the earlier version of the plugin on my live site. (I don't believe that the person who made me aware of the problem had ever submitted a comment).
