ignore_user_abort error (4 posts)

Since I installed WP super cache I find the following lines on my error.log:

PHP Warning: ignore_user_abort() has been disabled for security reasons in /sites/bertpijs.nl/www/blog/wp-cron.php on line 12

My site is hosted by a provider. I asked this same question to them and they tell these functions are disabled for safety reasons.

Is there a way to work around this?

This is in a core part of WordPress, not Supercache and many other parts of WordPress depend on it. If your host won't enable it you should probably move elsewhere as I've never heard of this function being disabled. Feel free to show them this thread too.

Thanks Donncha, I forwarded you answer to my hosting provider.
Does the same account for set_time_limit? I just noticed a lot of these messages in the error log too.

It's unusual to ban it but I can understand why - they don't want web server processes living for a long time. There are plenty of hosts out there where WordPress works perfectly fine so there's no need to accept these limits.
