I’ve got a site with a potential WSC issue and during my troubleshooting, reading the FAQ and the installation guide, I have downloaded the .htaccess file the settings are not the same as I see in the WSC admin page on that site.

So, when WSC shows the rewrite rules in the admin screen does it actually read the rules from the relevant .htaccess file or does it just show what the rules should look like if they were in the .htaccess file.

I took a look through the code and the latter seems correct *but* I’m no coder. It did however prompt me to raise this question.

Anyone else experience the same issue?

I re-read the wording in the WP Super Cache admin screen and it doesn’t say that it’s *actually* reading the rules from the .htaccess file.

So it shows you what the rules should look like in the file not how the file currently looks with or without the rules.

So, I’ll mark this as resolved.
