Try the dev version at http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-super-cache.zip as that will fix the error you’re getting.
Enable PHP mode caching to enable the 304 caching.
Same problem here in both blogs hosted by Hostgator. Only when using the plugin on “Use mod_rewrite to serve cache files. (Recommended)” mode. 🙁
Tried the dev version as instructed which did not solve the problem…
Try to enable PHP mode caching, you will have less problems and the speed of website will be the same.
It looks like some little coding error, the error are occurring, but the cache still working.
Actually it works in PHP mode. But I still want to use mod_rewrite… 🙂
It could be a coding error. But it occurred only after I transferred my blog to Hostgator…
Hmm… I’m too with Hostgator, you can contact them thru live chat and notify about this issue maybe their support can help.
Also get back here if they resolve it 🙂
I switched back to my old host after killing my self at the live chat and everything is fine. Planning to try a different host again…
What host are you using now? I’m thinking too about switching from Hostgator, because their support far away from that it was couple years ago :/
Hello, 2 of my sites have been blocked already by Hostgator. And I already received a warning about my account getting blocked. I did everything I could but the problem remains. It seems there’s an issue with HostGator servers/configuration? I’m loosing hope already as I have dedicated 3 days but to no avail. Hostgator chat support also couldn’t figure out what’s the reason for this, and the other agents will just state that this is not within their scope of work. Please tell me what’s the other hosting that WP Super Cache will work? I’m planning now to leave Hostgator, unless anyone could tell me the solution for this? Please please please.
