   I've been using WP Super Cache, and like it quite a bit since I use shared hosting. I'm thinking of adding Buddypress and wonder whether this plugin will work for BP as well...

   It will but BP clears all the cache when certain actions are performed, or at least it did a year or so ago. Check these forums and you'll probably find some old threads about it.
