Has anyone ever seen this issue? We've got a custom post type that always fails to display (500 error) if the post has not been cached. However, it does create the cached version of it, so when you hit refresh, it displays the cached version properly.
For now, I've solved this by blocking those pages from using the cache at all, but I'd like them to be included if I could.
And just as an additional data point, we have other custom post types on the same site that are not displaying this behavior.
