    Hello! I just discovered this plugin and I love it!

    I do agree with another post I saw that the interface is a bit confusing. Would like it if the Placement screen would stay up instead of refreshing to the default of One Click templates after saving.

    That being said, the customization options are really nice. Finding this has made my day, so thank you!

    I am wondering if it's possible to:

    1) get a Pinterest button included on the Placement screen; the Pinterest "goodies" aren't especially clear, so I'm having trouble creating a custom button.

    2) have the option of two differently styled FB buttons. For ex., I would love to have the basic 'Like' with button count above the content, but below I want to have 'Like' standard button.

    Possible?

    Thanks so much -- totally loving this plugin!

    Hello,

    Thanks for trying WP Socializer. I am trying the level best to make the interface face all the possible settings and features. The idea of the admin page is,

    * Select the inbuilt templates
    or
    * Customize the buttons one by one from each tab and finally place the button code in the "Placement" tab.

    Its simple, there nothing to struggle with interface. Anyway I'm still working on to make the interface richer and simpler.

    Regarding the requested features,
    * Ill try to add the pinterest button in the next version.
    * For the FB button select the button style as "box_count" it will work.

    Thank you.

    Hi, Aakash. Thank you for your reply.

    As the designer, it may be easy for your to navigate, however as a user, it is a bit of a struggle, as others here have said. The interface is not as intuitive as it could be. Also, as I said, when working on the placement tab to customize things, after saving the options, the screen refreshes and defaults back to the top tab, which happens to be One Click settings. After hitting save, the tab on which on has been working should remain open.

    Re: Facebook - I'm asking if it's possible to have two different styles of buttons at the same time. Currently, selecting "box_count" will affect the style of the button no matter where it is placed. I want button count above the content and standard button below the content. As things stand, I can only have one or the other.

    Thanks again for your reply.

    Hi TourAbsurd,

    I even had the same idea of restoring the same tab after saving.
    I didn't plan this usage before the development. Ill sure update this in the next version.

    Regarding the Facebook button, its not only the FB button which has the problem its the other buttons too...

    I'm just doing some works to replace the current system with a new one so as to use multiple different type of buttons. I'm also planning to make a "drag drop" interface so as to help newbies.

    But I think it is possible only in version 3.0. Its not easy to suddenly switch to new ideas as WP Socializer has huge number of users.

    I'm actively working on this plugin to suite all the requirements.

    But for now, you can use the "template functions" to place manually in the theme.

    Thank you.

    Sounds great! It's already wonderful (really, my husband must have gotten tired of me telling him yesterday how sexy my site looks with the new share buttons), so I'm sure it will get even better.

    One other thought for you - have you considered integrating a Flattr button? I would absolutely LOVE to have a Flattr button in line with the others. And if you don't have a Flattr.com account, you really should get one. I'd be more than happy to drop a little micropayment/donation your way. I don't have a lot of money, but I really do like paying for the things I like and use.

    Cheers!
    Katrina

    pps: while I'm asking for presents, I thought I'd add different link shortening services to the list. Any chance that you'll include su.pr as well as bit.ly?

    I loved that with some of the other addons my RT's would be in su.pr format, include my user name, and, if I wanted, tags (WP Tweet Button has some of this, but not all).

    Sorry if this is all asking too much. Believe me when I say that I'm very happy with how things are now. Might as well shoot for the moon! ;)

    Wondering if there's any update on adding a Pinterest button?

    I found this listed on aakash web, but it doesn't properly work.

    <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?media={url}&description={title}" class="pin-it-button" count-layout="horizontal">Pin It</a>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

    This is really getting to be a priority. Can you give an update or maybe provide some proper code for a custom button?

    Thanks.

    Through some very creative code-jockeying, the husband and I managed to get a Pinterest button working with WP Socializer. However, this means that another plugin must be installed, activated, and edited -- and it has to remain active.

    In any case, here's what we did.

    1) install and activate the Pinterest Pin It Button plugin

    2) edit the "Pinterest Pin It Button" plugin (pinterest.php)

    Original value:

    function pinitbutton($content){
    if (is_single()) {
        $content .= '
    <div class="pinterest-btn">
    	<a href="javascript:exec_pinmarklet();" class="pin-it-btn" title="Pin It on Pinterest"></a>
    </div>';
    }
    return $content;
    }
    add_filter('the_content', 'pinitbutton');

    function pinitshortcode(){
        $pinitbutton = '
    <div class="pinterest-btn">
    	<a href="javascript:exec_pinmarklet();" class="pin-it-btn" title="Pin It on Pinterest"></a>
    </div>';
    return $pinitbutton;
    }

    Edited value:

    /* EDITED */

    function pinitbutton($content){
    if (is_single()) {
        $content .=' ';
    }
    return $content;
    }
    add_filter('the_content', 'pinitbutton');

    function pinitshortcode(){
        $pinitbutton = ' ';
    return $pinitbutton;
    }

    3) code to insert into Custom 1 button:

    <div><a href="javascript:exec_pinmarklet();" class="pin-it-btn" title="Pin It on Pinterest"></a></div>

    Please note: this form of the button does not include the Pinterest counter, just the button.
