   I was having cripplingly slow load times and complete non-page loads (while running Total Cache, I might add).

   I ran a test on pingdom (http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/B9XxkRSLZ/http://startech1.org/) and was having a 30s load time on the home page. After disabling SlimStat, I'm getting 3s (http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/MWf7umeUn/http://startech1.org/).

   Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It's not a new issue, but I finally had time to dig into it and find the root. If slow downs to that degree are the price of decent stats, they're not even close to worth it.

   Dan, this is usually related to the browser db autoupdate functionalit in 2.8. You're not the first one to notice this behavior, and that's why I've completely rewritten that part in version 2.8.1. Would you like to test it?
