    Hello,
it is great to see how much effort is put into further developing SlimStat, thanks a lot for this!!!

But the recent update brought some changes I am not really happy with… here are some questions:
    – How can I again make “Overview” my default view? “Right now” is not very interesting for me – I’d even consider to deactivate it of possible
    – “Top pages” numbers in Overview are now in %, is there a way to make it absolute numbers again?
    – My Top Pages contains a lot of entries like “[404]/2012/05/groser-vergleichstest-asus-transformer-pad-tf300t-und-tf201-prime-mit-46min-video/favicon.ico” now – can that be filtered?

Maybe these things can be configured, but I have not found any options, although searching intensively.
Any pointers / help are highly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Klaus

    Hi Klaus,

thank you for your kind words and for your feedback. This plugin is growing and getting better thanks to all the contributions like yours. Let me address your questions one by one:

How can I again make “Overview” my default view? “Right now” is not very interesting for me – I’d even consider to deactivate it of possible

As a temporary workaround, you can use the dropdown menu in the black admin bar on top to go directly to your favorite view. Adding an option to choose the default view is already on my todo list and will be implemented in 2.8.3. Same thing will happen with the colors that identify known visitors, people coming from search engines and such: some users have complained about them, so adding an option to customize that part seems the way to go!

“Top pages” numbers in Overview are now in %, is there a way to make it absolute numbers again?

If you hover each item, the absolute number will be shown. I may introduce an option which allows admins to choose what to show ‘by default’ and switch between the two views (absolute/percentage on hover or viceversa)

My Top Pages contains a lot of entries like “[404]/2012/05/groser-vergleichstest-asus-transformer-pad-tf300t-und-tf201-prime-mit-46min-video/favicon.ico” now – can that be filtered?

Good point, I hadn’t thought about an option to ignore 404 pages. I can actually make this even more flexible, by introducing an option to ignore any of the Conditional Tags. Where 404 is just one of them 😉

    What do you think?

PS: a vote for my plugin would be a nice way to say thank you.

    Hello Camu,
thanks a lot for your prompt reply – I just gave you a five star vote 🙂
    Re my questions:
    1) That’s good news!
    2) Such an option would also be great!
    3) Another great idea. Interestingly, these 404s had not appeared before recently upgrading (I don’t remember exactly which version it was to…) – did you already have such a filter in place in the past?

    Kind regards,
    Klaus

Yeah, that part of the tracking engine was updated to parse some WordPress-related information (content “type”, author, conditional tags, prefetching etc). That’s why you hadn’t noticed those before.

Thank you for your vote, really appreciated.

    Best,
    Camu
