   For a variety of reasons we'd prefer to use a current, hosted version of jQuery rather than the older version embedded with WordPress. Some of the other scripts we're using our site depend on jQuery 1.5.

   Where in the source code for your plugin is jQuery included? Do you foresee any problems if we were to edit the plugin so that it includes the hosted version of jQuery?

   That said, I'd recommend you tell WordPress as a whole to override its version of jQuery using a separate plugin for this purpose. (Only poorly coded or extremely old plugins manually include a link to jQuery).
