The plugin warns about the database table prefix being wp_ and suggests changing them. I enter new characters to replace them and click "start renaming" and it gives the following error:

"Your User which is used to access your WordPress Tables/Database, hasn't enough rights( is missing ALTER-right) to alter your Tablestructure."

I have checked the wp-config to verify the mysql username and made sure that the username has All Privilidges for the wordpress database, and yet the same error message.

Ditto here. I spent 20 minutes backing up and downloading my files onto a thumb drive for this? :)

This is for anyone having this issue:
Download the latest version. If it still gives you that message, email me directly so I can determine why it's happening for you.

I'll develop a fix for it but I can't simulate every possible environments and this is something that happens for only a handful of people.

I'm getting the same thing. But first, how do I make sure I do have "ALTER rights"? And if I don't, how do I make it so I do?

    Please read my previous posts.
I can not possibly simulate every single environment. I've included code in the latest version of the plugin to let me know your specific settings, but I need you to email me if you're having this issue.
Posting that you have a problem in a message board doesn't help me or anyone else. The documentation on my website, the text on the plugin page on WordPress, and my forum posts all say to email me with any problems, specifically this one.
