If you have support questions about the WP RSS Multi Importer Plugin, you can ask them here or at http://www.allenweiss.com/wp_plugin

In either case, if you are having problems..it's best to provide an example of an RSS feed that are you are using so I can try to replicate the problem.

Also, be sure to check back here or at the other support site for an answer as I will respond to questions on these forums.

    Thanks,
    Allen

Hello. Can you help? I added RSS Multi uploader on a page and it worked great. then i copied and pasted (not in html view) to add multiple categories underneath. But now i cannot save, publish, delete or anything else to the page. Even if i delete all content and click 'publish' or click 'trash' i get this error: You've either entered a category ID that doesn't exist or have no feeds
configured for this category. Edit the shortcode on this page with a category ID
    that exists, or go
here and and get an ID that does exist in your admin panel

I’m having this problem. I have one working feed. But when I try to set up a second feed with a different feed URL, I am getting the same error message. I have checked the feed URL and it is correct. I have set up the category in the category settings. I have inserted the shortcode [wp_rss_multi_importer category="2”]

Still I am getting the error message. Help?

Can you send me the url of the page you're having problems with? Also, if you could put [wp_rss_multi_importer dumpthis="1"] on that page, and send me what you see I can see what's going on.

mlundin - the feed does not accept any categories now and does not work with shortcode. Right now if you have a feed, it defaults to all categories you have set up. Are you putting that shortcode on a specific page? What exactly is the error message?

Hi Allen, i have 4 blog with the same theme. In one of these i use rss importer to show article from the other three. The import image of these three is correct for all except for one. I don't know, why? The theme is the same, the rss file is the same...

If i use [wp_rss_multi_importer dumpthis="1"] as you sugested i see the images of this particular blog too but without images url is incorrect, only for one blog on three.

    Can you help me?

    Thanks

You'll need to give me the rss url for the different blogs, letting me know which urls are having the problem...otherwise I cannot see what is going on.

    Thanks,
    Allen

    Hi Allen,

This looks like an amazing plugin and utility.

Would I be able to permanently import a feed that I have at another blog and then kill the feed at the other end once I have it imported to the new blog?

I guess what I am really needing to do is simply import one blog to another one, and want to know if I can do that with this plugin?

    Thank you in advance,

    John

    Hi John
I guess one thing you could do is use the feed to post feature and set it to import all the feed items (but they go into blog posts). The RSS feeds in the plug aren't stored in a database, so it would have to be imported into blog posts...would that work?

    Hi John
Actually, do this...delete the plugin and then download it again. I just pushed another file that I'm hoping will eliminate that problem.

Hi Allen - TERRIFIC Plug-in! Exactly what I have been looking for! Really robust and a true find for anyone wanting to add news feeds and auto-blogging to their site.

I've just begun re-building our site at http://www.fathers-resources.com which was created on DotNetNuke in 2005 into a wordpress site at http://www.fathersresources.net

    A couple of questions:

    1) When I use the lightbox to display posts, they can't be scrolled to review. Any way to fix that? Or have I set something up wrong? Go to http://fathersresources.net/child-custody-news/

    2) When I use the other window option, it opens in another tab, both in Firefox and Safari. Any way to have an option whwre it actually will either open another tab or really open a new separate window, so you will still have your site's window open. Then when they finish reading the article, they will go back to the feed because that window is till open?

Again, what a WONDERFUL plug-in. I'll be using it on another site where we are aging the domain - divorce.org. Keep up the terrific work!

    Thanks,

    Danny

    Hi,
    Thanks.

First of all, when I go to the url you gave, it's set to open into a new tab, not a lightbox so I can't see what the problem is with the lightbox. As for opening in a new window, that is not available in the plugin yet, since that requires adding javascript to the link anchor. This is something I may add in an update. For now, a new window means a new tab.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Best wishes,
    Allen

Thanks Allen - I've reset it for lightbox so you can see what happens. I'm on a Mac. I'll test it on a PC to see if I get the same thing.

Yep - It's a Mac glitch. Both in Firefox and Safari. I'm running the latest editions of those browsers for Mac. with OSX 10.8.2. on a 2.7 ghz Intel Core i7 with a 750GB SSD Drive.

Works just fine though on my PC. If you have any wish to fix, I'll happily volunteer to test it out if you don't have access to a Mac.

Just so you know, it's not just a mac thing (since I and others who use the plugin have no problem with the plugin using the lightbox on hundreds of other sites)...this is a function of the site you are going to...since this is an iframe, what you're seeing is the other site. Try putting in a feed for a different web site and my guess the scrolling will work.

Actually, my bet is that there is a conflict going on with other colorbox plugins you're running on your site...how about you giving me the RSS feed you're using and I'll see if I can reproduce the problem on one of my production servers.

Seems we have a plug-in conflict. I've got lightbox to work properly in standalone, when I deactivate all other plug-ins, so I'll have to see what plug-in is producing the conflict and let you know ;-) Thanks for your help so far.

Also there is a setting in the settings panel to check if you have a lightbox conflict. You might try checking that and see if it helps.

Also, regarding opening in a new window vs a new tab is something that is set in the preferences by each user on their browser..so I will not be putting in this option in a future update.

    Awesome plugin!
Is there a way to import the tags from the rss when using feed to post?
    Thanks.

I'm trying to use this feed. Other feeds work, but not this one and I really need it to...

    Thanks!

that feed won't work - put it in this demo page and you'll see if throws errors because of the redirect

    Hello, awesome plugin.

I have an issued but its not from the plugin, it is from server side I think.

When I fetch the posts on live site it doesn't fetch feed "Episch Avontuur" from http://www.umcuriosityworks.nl/feed. On local machine it works. I asked admin if there are any errors on logs but there were none.
Maybe you can give me an ideea.

    Thanks.

if it works on one site (your local machine) but not another, then it's clearly not the plugin that is the problem...its either because one machine is blocking that feed, or else you have a conflicting plugin running on the server that isn't working.

    Thanks for answer.

Yea I know its not the plugin, I said that in my post.
I asked because maybe someone had some problem.
It might be from some security option on server.

    Thanks again.

I think it must be the server, as here is that feed running on my hostgator account, using the most recent version of the plugin
