I have just started using WP RSS Aggregator and it works perfectly for my current requirement. However what would be really really good, would be to categories feeds so that a shortcode could be used to post different aggregations of feeds to different parts of a site depending upon topic relevancy.
Is there anyway of doing this currently or is it something that might be part of a future development?

Yes this is one of the future features. I'm working on it already, there are many other features that would be nice to have, so we're going the way of a free plugin here plus some add-on modules like the categories one. It took me a massive time investment to develop the current plugin and I would like to sustain its development in the future through this model.
