[resolved] Published document not downloadable (5 posts)

Hi -- I think this is the perfect solution to what I need, but I can't seem to make the documents downloadable. Here's what I've done:

    • I've created a page: http://mentalhealthcrisisalliance.org/resources-for-mhca-staff/

    • I've uploaded two Publications and clicked "insert into post."

    • On the page I created I added the short code [wp-publication-archive]

The short code prints the names and categories of the publications, but no download link.

    Many thanks for your help!

It doesn't look like the uploaded files were attached to the Publications :-(

Edit one of the publications and double-check the URL in the Publication box (it should be the second box on the page, the first being Summary and the third being Thumbnail). If there's a link there ... then we've got something else breaking.

Ahhhh. I get it. Thank you!

So the process is like this:
    1. Create a new Publication
    2. Upload the document file & click insert into post
    3. Edit the Publication: Grab URL of the document file from the Media Library & enter that in the Absolute URL field
    4. Enter the shortcode in the page where the publication download info. is to appear.

Did I miss a link for plugin documentation somewhere?

No you didn't miss anything. Clicking "insert into post" should be inserting the URL of the document into the Absolute URL field for you. Something is going on that's preventing that.

Can you list out which plugins you have installed? Something might be interfering.

Actually, it looks like it is working now. The URL populates to the Absolute URL field just fine. I cleared all of the WP caches -- not sure if that made the difference or not.

    Thank you!
