I have read the instructions but would liek to know how it works after setting the variable to true:
will only the site-admin see the options page where he can input his admin token while all other users, including admins don't see any options?

    Short answer: Yes :)

But please keep in mind multisite support is still experimental.

oh, btw. are are you going to help us keep piwik clean too?
could there be an option to delete piwik accounts when the corresponding blog is being deleted?

Question 1: Yes, if you don't want blog owners to disable it on their own. See Create A Network - WordPress_Plugins.

Question 2: Yes, but WPMU/Multisite support is still experimental. Currently the further development will prefer the standard plugin usage. Afterwards I'll spend more time on the network usage like suggested Piwik cleanup or handling large quantities of blogs.

oh, and btw. can I enable the displaying of the stats in users dashboard by default?
it seems to be off and I can't find where to enable that...

btw. I suspected some problems so I deactivated the plugin, deleted the created sites on my piwik installation then enabled the plugin again.

looks like the sites I have deleted will not be recreated again?

is this just some problem on my end or is it general desired behaviour?

btw. I am also getting a PHP warning: http://dev.piwik.org/trac/ticket/2388#comment:2 is this anything that needs to be fixed? I have mistakenly reported it to the piwik bug tracker :-(

well, the current status is that all my sites and subsites are trying to report stats to the site=ID=3 ?

The plugin currently does not contain an uninstall function. So you'll have to clean up your database if you want sites to be recreated. Otherwise they will still try to use their old IDs.

Currently dashboard stats aren't part of the multisite version.

thx. done and it works: I deleted all piwik references from my wp install and dropped the piwik db as well since it was only set up for testing.

started fresh and everything works fine.

I don't know if you can read this (might be a private forum) if you can have a read: http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/about-multisite-and-stats
