[Plugin: WP-Piwik] Problem after upgrade Piwik 1.8.2

Since i upgraded Piwik to the latest version 1.8.2 the Plugin doesn’t work any more. I already checked my installation, i can pull the piwik information via widget from another site manually.

Error received:
Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten: Piwik did not answer. Please check your entered Piwik URL.

Debugging

Either allow_url_fopen has to be enabled or cURL has to be available:

cURL ist verfügbar.
allow_url_fopen ist aktiviert.

by the way creat plugin! i just contributetd to the Compatibility so it now says: Works! 🙂

the combination WP and Plugin works but seems not to be compatible with Piwik 1.8.2?

Can you access your error log and try to figure out some detail information?

The only error i found is the following

Yes, Piwik itself works fine.

I testet with http and it works so the problem might be SSL, but before the upgrade of piwik (old version 1.7.1) the plugin worked.

No SSL is not acceptable for me, so i have to find a fix.

0.9.4 will support the PHP API which works without HTTP requests.

Meanwhile you can have a look at this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-piwik-https-ssl-support?replies=3 Your certificate seems to be self-signed (=not trustable). If SSL is indispensable for you, you should think about buying a signed certificate. Using an untrusted certificate may also cause errors on tracking.

Ok thanks that helped me to solve the Problem!
But it still does not clarify why it worked before the update. The certificate was always the same and selfsigned.

PS: the tracking goes via http but for admin work and authentication i strictly use https

Thanks for the compliment & don’t mention it! I’ll remember your cURL options which you’ve shown in your blog post. Maybe I can add an option like “ignore certificate’s trust” to keep WP-Piwik working with own certs.

But I can’t tell you why this occurs after updating Piwik. Maybe you got a general system update at the same time by accident? Well, the importing thing is that it works. 🙂
