You have all albums in the above link listed separately like:
%%wppa%% %%cover=13%%
%%wppa%% %%cover=18%%
%%wppa%% %%cover=…
etc.
If you make a dummy album, say its named California with id=4711 and set the parents of all the albums to California and use the script:
%%wppa%% %%album=4711%%
You have the same result, but (a little) faster. This will not fix it all, but helps and is easier to maintain. You can also set the sequence order of the albums in the album admin.
Please check Table IX-A3: allow wppa+ debugging, then i can see a little more.
Thanks for your answer. I will try your suggestion with the parent albums during the next days. I am not sure if this will solve the problem. It is equally slow if I point only at one album entry in my blog posts: http://phil.chillsofa.de/wordpress/?p=1830. I also turned debugging on and reinitialized the plugin. Unfortunately I don’t have control over cleaning up the cache of the server.

To my info you are at wppa+ rev 4.6.12, hotfix 001.
Do you mind updating to the current version 4.7.12.?
It has more diagnostics in debug mode, so i can see more… especially time needed for queries.
Update to 4.7.13, it usess much less database queries, this wil help.
I will come with more advise later.

It looks rather normal (acceptable) now. However, i will still go further searching for performance improvements. In the mean time it may be usefull if you find out if you can ‘manually’ optimize database tables. Look for:
wp_wppa_albums, wp_wppa_photos, wp_wppa_rating, wp_wppa_comments, wp_wppa_iptc, wp_wppa_exif.
I will build this in a later.

Plese: supply a link to a page that displays an album or a slideshow, Greek is no my favorite language, so menues or links dont tell me anythig.
Also, please check Table IX-A3 (allow WPPA+ Debugging). This enables me to see a lot of diagnostic data, without affecting normal users’s views.
