Just upgraded to 4.6.6 tonight and immediately noticed all my preview thumbnails in every post were now cut off.

To preview various images I had used the code similar to the below in all my posts to link people directly to an album via a WPPA thumbnail.

    %%wppa%% %%photo=1503%% %%size=150%%%%align=center%%

I did nothing but the 4.6.6 upgrade (no posts were edited in any way) and now all the thumbnail images show at correct width but are limited to something like 30-31 pixels in height. I tried my site in Firefox (latest) and Chrome (latest) same result. I also noticed removing the align or width parameter didn’t change the fact the image was always cut off to 30 odd pixels.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I LOVE that preview image and want it back! HA.

Thanks for any help in advance!

  • Since the 4.6.6 update I have similar issues.
    On a Page I have:
    %%wppa%% %%photo=11572%% %%size=300%% %%align=right%%
This used to display the photo 11572. Now only the top 10% shows on the page.
This happens on other pages for other photos.
    Have I missed something?
Is there a new setting I have missed?
I had to take my site offline as a result.

I have checked this on my other site.
Prior to the update photos were displaying fine.
Following the update none of them show – just gaps where they should be.

Same for me. Photo’s in posts do not display the right height anymore.

Just to make sure: I downloaded and replaced the the v4.6.5 files versions and replaced the v4.6.6 versions (approx. 10 files) and now pics in posts show alright again.
    1) It’s a easy and fast workaround
    2) The fault is really in the v4.6.6 files

Seems like opajaap isn’t available at the moment.
My site has been offline for a whole day now so I’ll have to manually revert to the last working version.
Sjef X, where did you download v4.6.5?

Happily there’s a lot of development history Opajaap provides his followers with. Here’s the link to the set of v4.6.5 files changed in v4.6.6. At the end of the page you have the choice to download just these files as a zip.

Just replace all files in the maindirectory of the plugin. Good luck.

    Thankyou. I’ll try that

    Excellent! Now it works.

What was the problem? Did you maybe not clear cache on the server?
My sites all work properly after update to 4.6.6.

    I just noticed the problem…

Jaap, to be sure I did a doublecheck. Upgraded again. Clear cache, re-initialise plug-in, regenerate all miniatures but, it all doesn’t help. I guess your last remark suggests you found something yourself …?

After I upgraded to 4.6.6 last night in all my slideshows I got a huge white space between each picture and the description below it. I tracked it down to the fact that I had the height in the settings set to 800 but in some slideshows I was using pictures which are only 600 high. I reset the height to 600 and this fixed the problem except when a picture is less than 600 high because then a variable-sized gap reappears – this makes cropped/smaller pictures in the slideshow not look good. With previous versions (i.e. 4.6.5 and prior), having the height set to max 800 did not affect the spacing between the picture and the description no matter what height the picture was, they always stayed the same distance apart. I would like the previous behaviour back, please 🙂

    Yes there is a problem

You can install versin 4.6.4 from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/developers/ if you do not need a mobile version.

    (download and install manually)

    I am working on it

    Fixed in 4.6.7

Yes! 4.6.7 fixes the above problems.
The only slight concern is that when viewing my site in IE9 the Compatibility Button is displayed, which, if pressed, displays the above problems again.
Does this mean then IE versions prior to 9 won’t display correctly?

Yes, I can confirm that the slideshow still does not display correctly in IE 8 which is a disappointment as anyone using Windows XP is stuck with IE8. It is now working fine in Firefox, however, so that’s good.

Hopefully opajaap can get the responsive slideshow also working in IE8 – I have been really looking forward to this capability 🙂
