[resolved] Latest Upgrade - Sidebar Slideshow Broken (19 posts)

    Hi,

I did the latest upgrade. My sidebar slideshow seems to be broken. I checked in Chrome and Firefox.

In Chrome: Vertical height is gone (only top portion of photo visible)
In Firefox: No slideshow visible at all

I made no other changes or upgrades to any other plugins/themes.

    Thanks
    Andrew

De-activate w3 total cache or reset/clear the cache may help

For info I had the same problem the sidebar slideshow was invisible, only the empty space was there.
After just a save of the slideshow-widget it works again.

I am not using any caching plugin.

    Hi,

    It's still not working.
    I tried:

    - emptied/cleared W3 Total Cache
    - deactivated/activated W3
    - deactivated/activated WPPA
    - saved widget settings

Strange. I haven't had this problem before with WPPA upgrades.

    At laquintha:

I fixed it, thanx for the report.

de-activate the plugin, delete it, and re-install from the plugins page.
So you will get a fresh version with the fix.

    Hi,

Well, it's working in Firefox, but not working in Chrome and IE. Same issue; only top 10% of photo in sidebar widget visible.
    WPPA Version 4.6.8

    I did the usual...
    deactivate/activate W3 Total Cache
    deactivate/activate WPPA
    Saved widget settings

If I do the above deactivate > delete WPPA plugin > reinstall
will all my photos and settings still be there???

What is your email, then i can sent you a screenshot, showing chrome with your site and the sidebar slideshow

I've sent you an email/screenshot and admin privileges to my website.

On my computer, I still have the problem with IE8 only. It just started displaying correctly in Chrome - ignore the part in my email about it not working in Chrome.

I checked on a second computer and the problem still exists in IE9, but the sidebar slideshow is ok in Chrome and Firefox.

This is really hard for me to troubleshoot, but I think it's only an IE-related problem now.

Currently, my W3 Total Cache is deactivated.

I cannot reproduce it in IE9 on your site, maybe CTRL+F5 or clearing browser cache/history will help

In IE8 i can reproduce it. I am workin on it

FYI: This happens only when portrait only is set to yes.

    Hi,

Thanks for looking into this and working on it. I actually am only using portraits with this widget, so hopefully you will find a quickfix for it.

Setting portrait to 'no' fixes it in IE8 and IE9, but I can't get the image size right.

I can't figure out a way to set the image size, so they fill the widget full-size like before (maybe 200x300px).

(Or, since it's only 1 browser I can try to live with it by keeping portrait to 'yes' until you find the fix)
    Thanks
    Andrew

It is fixed now in 4.6.9 for ie7/8.
Maybe you run ie9 in compatibility mode?
I really cannot reproduce it in standard ie9

Thanks, indeed, the sidebar slideshow seems to be working correctly in all browsers now.
I'll mark this thread as 'resolved'

    Thanks again
    Andrew
