Is there any relationship between a picture's actual file name such as GDHS2705.jpg and the name as shown in the Album Information: ID = 11379 Preview and is there a way to convert between the two?

Just to add to the above - I'm thinking about the PMF file that comes with the 'Export Photos' option. I have approximately 400 pictures on my site and although the PMF file lists the original JPG file name (ie. GDHS0212), its name and that of the accompanying picture is in the form of: 11282.jpg.
This makes it a long and laborious procedure to tie it up with the original picture.
    Hope that makes it clearer.

The idea is to export an album, to transport it to a different installation, and import it there.
This will ensure the proper names and descriptions to show up in the second system.
If the photonumbers are vacant in the target system, even the original unique numbers will be used.
This mechanism is also usefull for back-up purposes. If you do, delete the album before restoring, otherwise you will get duplicate photos (the numbers will not be vacant).

Why would you want to make jpg files with the original (non-unique names) out of the wppa content?

The reason I would want this is because many of the 400+ plus photos on my website have rather long descriptions ie. the description of a school group on the site showing 30 people might have 30 names plus a date and other details (this is to allow the Search option to function). This 'metadata' exists only within wppa on my website.
As such, the PMF file produced during a wppa export would have been very useful for me to archive along with the accompanying original image file on my computer (if the name of the PMF file was the same as the original photo).
On reflection, I guess that when I created these long descriptions within wppa I should also have duplicated the description data on my computer.
This was an oversight on my part which I was hoping the wppa export function might help to resolve. I will now investigate a batch method of extracting the original file name and description from the PMF file and either import the data to Lightroom's metadata or to a simple text file.
    Thanks for your help.

I hope you understand the absolute requirement fot the uniqueness of a photo and all of its accompanying data in a total of 6 db tables. This uniqueness is achieved with the numeric id. \This allows for various photos having the same name, changing names without consequences for the info in other db tables etc etc.
However i understand your problem. But keep in mind that 4711.jpg belongs to 4711.pmf vice-versa, always ever and ever....
