• I have directly integrated wp-pagenavi into a template page with a custom loop and have it working, so that is all good. I would, however, like to alter the way it displays.
Essentially I would like it to display like this:

    < (numbers here) >

With the arrows being next and previous links that are always present and active when applicable.
I have managed to change the >> arrows to > arrows (simple) and made the pages_text output as < (again, just tinkering) which works well on the first page but not anywhere (for obvious reasons).
I have run aground with pretty much anything further as I am, essentially, just an ambitious beginner.
I have a feeling I need to set some while conditions that will alter when prev_page and next_page dipslay but this is a little beyond me so any help would be appreciated.
I am not necessarily looking for someone to just give me the answer, a gentle nudge in the right direction would be awesome as I am eager to learn and do this on my own.
(don’t let that stop you from giving me the answers though obviously:D)
