My site uses quite a few text widgets with html and absolute links. I don't think the string lengths were calculated correctly.
After migration, many of the text widgets were missing. I poked into it for at least of of the missing widgets and found the string length calculated as 388 when it was, in fact, 348.

Sounds like a bug. If you're a coder, feel free to fix it and submit a patch to me. If not, you can send me the problematic database record. Use http://bradt.ca/contact/ if you don't wish to post it on here.

[Plugin: WP Migrate DB] text widgets not migrated may be duplicate. It may help in solving the issue.
I'm looking for a backup plugin myself and am interested in giving this a shot after this issue is remedied. The plugin seems promising.

I'm having a similar problem. I *love* this plugin and use it all the time. I have the pay-to-play Backup Buddy and for simple back and forth, I far prefer this one. But the text widget issue does pose a problem.
I am a coder and will see what I can do about working up a patch.
