    Hi,
Would it be possible to create a facebook application (or does one exist) that could be used to retrieve a list of friends and/or friends that are part of a Facebook Friend List and use that list to manage who can see pages/posts?

What I want to do is host all of my photos and videos on wordpress, post them to pages on my blog and allow certain facebook friends to see the pages. Facebook is my one location where I have all of my list of friends, but I don't like storing my photos and videos on facebook due to privacy concerns. Managing my wordpress page security using facebook allows my friends to see my pages without having to create another login on wordpress (if they don't have a wordpress account).

    thanks.

I believe there are plugins that utilize FB login credentials for WP. While I haven't tested, that would appear to be what you need.

WP-Members currently utilizes wp_login to validate login credentials. Since that has been deprecated in favor of wp_signon, we will be shifting to that. So if there is an FB signon plugin that essentially plugs those functions, it may work.

Thanks. A search for "facebook authorization" in plugins produced a few possible choices, such as janrain and gigya. These plugins require a sign-up to their service and will then allow users to login to your blog using different types of logins (facebook, yahoo, google, etc).

WP-Members has the nice auth control functionality, so using them together would be a workable solution.

Ideally I would like something that can access my facebook friend lists (a facebook app) and allow me to set permissions based on the friend list, without having to add each user individually. This type of solution would proably need to be a single solution that combines features such as WP-Members and open-id login plugins. Maybe diaspora will eventually have something like this, I was hoping I could do it in WordPress.

    thanks again.
