[resolved] Problems with HTML in Dialogs and Error Messages (3 posts)

The Dialogs and Error Messages section allows you to edit the text that shows up for people who are not logged in to a protected page. It says simple HTML is allowed and I'm trying to provide a link so that people who need a username and password can contact me. (Registration is off and the link goes to a contact form, but where the link goes doesn't really matter.)

The problem is that anytime I add a quotation mark (")it adds a backslash to the output. So links are created using the <a href> tag but instead of a link to xyz.com it ends up as an unusable \xyz.com\. Again, the <a href> tag does work but apparently quotation marks don't, which makes a link impossible.

Is there a way to get around this limitation against quotation marks so that links can be created.

If you use simple tags that do not use quotation marks (such as <p>, <i>, etc.), there should be no problem. In the case of any quotation marks in the dialogs, there is a known bug. This affects the use of quotation marks or apostrophes either in a tag or the text itself.

There is a bug fix for the current production release here. Also, this bug is corrected in the upcoming new feature release 2.4. (Notes on features and fixes in the upcoming 2.4 release.)

The new 2.4 release is now in public beta and can be downloaded here (be sure to select 2.4 and not "development version"):

    Hope that helps!

That's great thanks. I'll just wait for the update.
