Don't use this plugin it cost me $300 with my host server. I turned on the countdown feature, which didn't work, but used over 3,000 GPU's within a couple days, which added up to over $300.
Be careful when you build plugins.

It did not cost me money. But the hosting support said that it was using 99% of the PHP processes on the whole server.
Same happened with my server. This is very dangerous!! Usually I don't even bother making an account.
I'm on a shared hosting, so all other websites are getting killed as well. It makes every request timeout on the same server.
At the moment, I can't even fix this problem (because of the timeouts) and would like to suggest other, simpler maintenance mode plug-ins instead.
i dont understand the problem, the plugin has no cron or other, only a static javascript for the countdown and this is an jQuery-plugin, use on myn sites. I will see for this and cant actualy no find a problem.
Same here, it charged me 40$ on my (gs)Media Temple server
Something happennind with /plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/js/jquery.countdown-en.js file which does not exist as I see actually
Same here to.
This plugin causes my server hosting account suspension!
Spiked the server at 19% of CPU usage and triggered a fail safe auto suspend.
All my websites were down for 4 days!
I have change the function for test for the language files at the jquery-countdown. Maybe you can test the version in the trunk and give here an feedback? I inlcude this function only for user with an server this have inactive the fopen function. Thanks
Dear Frank,
Your plugin, specifically the file:
/wp-maintenance-mode/js/jquery.countdown-en.js
Just cost me $1054 and a week of downtime on every single site hosted on the same server over Christmas.... and it doesn't work.
Thanks
(Take it down, now)
@ryanberry: sorry for the problems, but why do use on a custom sertver for clients free plugins without test and read the logfile. I think this is important. The file is not in the plugin and i think on some servers give as an problem for check file is exist. Current i have work on the plugin and have change this, i hope i have found the problem. Current, i have some testers and after this i will upload the new version for golive. Now you can test the trunk version, when you like.
