First, I really like the plugin and have been using it for years.
But we've recently noticed that confirmation e-mails aren't being sent (or received).
We haven't payed attention to this before because 99% of our users are authenticated using one of the active directory plugins, so password distribution and management isn't necessary. But trying to add users to gmail and personal accounts isn't working. The user requests are being held in the database well enough, but the emails are not going out.
Compounding the issue, local site admins (we're running a multisite installation, self-hosted) don't have the option of checking off the box to add the user without sending a confirmation.
So, they can only add a user via a confirmation email, but the emails don't go out.
Every other kind of e-mail -- test messages from the configuration screen, Contact Form 7 submissions, new site creation, etc. etc. -- the system works fine.
