   Is it possible to use

   \begin{align*}
   &= \\
   &=
   \end{align*}

   to display equotations? It doesn't work on my page. It's very useful so i wonder why it is not implemented.

   Try QuickLaTeX plugin - it supports AMS-LaTeX environments among other advanced features.
