Upgrade from 3.4 to 4.0 removes any ability to actually manage the plugin settings or add maps.

Only “Maps” label appears in WP dashboard under “Settings” which replaced previously available “WP Google Maps” label and “Create Your Map” page when using 3.4.

Have had to remove 4.0 and re-install 3.4.

    Hi Barkeyo

If you click on the “Maps” menu in Version 4, your map is automatically created which is shown in a list format (similar to how Posts are shown). You then click on Edit and you are able to edit your map. There is more functionality in Version 4 than 3.4 and I would suggest you try again.

If there really is a bug, please can you use our support system on the website to lodge a ticket. This way I will be able to actually know what you are talking about and fix the problem.

    Hi Barkeyo

I think I may have found the bug that was causing issues on your side. I have implemented a patch. Please will you download version 4.1 and let me know if everything is working ok on your end?

    Kind regards,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Installed 4.1 et voila, all works just fine, thanks. Love the plugin, simple and effective. The new features are really useful, especially alignment as it elminates the annoying workround I was having to use to get the map positioned right.

    Thank you Barkeyo 🙂

It stopped working for me after update (no maps on plugin admin menu and no possibility to create one, map from website disappeared). I had to deactivate and activate again to make it working (on both 2 websites that I’m using your plugin, maps reappeared). But it’s working after doing so. Writing just so you know.

Another error I have on third website (don’t know if it’s becouse of your plugin or the other):

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare my_admin_scripts() (previously declared in /home/ble/public_html/ble.com/wp-content/plugins/easing-slider/easingslider.php:13) in /home/ble/public_html/ble.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-google-maps/wpGoogleMaps.php on line 1065

    Hi Jukooz

Sorry about that, our plugins are using the same function name. I have renamed the function and this will be fixed in the next release.

With regards to your first error, that was also a problem on our side. On some hosts our Version 4 never created the initial map correctly which lead to some people being able to create a map. By deactivating the plugin and reactivating should have fixed the problem, as it did on your site.

Thanks for letting me know about both errors, your feedback has helped me with the next version!

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Kind regards,
    Nick
