[Plugin: WP e-Commerce] WPeC v 3.8.7.6.2: widgets not working in category view

Using WP e-Commerce 3.8.7.6.2 (latest) and WordPress 3.3.1 (also latest.)
Anyhow, the category view doesn’t render any widgets, which should appear.
The shopping cart is in a widget. So, this is very important.
How can I get the widgets to appear, or is this a bug?
