[Plugin: WP Document Revisions] 404 Errors (3 posts)

I am trying out the WP Document Revisions plug-in and I am able to upload documents - but when I try to either view or download a successfully uploaded document I get a 404 error.

So I upload my document, say test.pdf, and a file appears in:

    htdocs\wptest\wp-content\uploads\20123

    with the hashed file name.

I have set the workflow state to 'initial draft'; visibility to 'public' and have clicked update so that the status is 'published'.

    The permalink shown is:

    Permalink: http://hostname/wptest/documents/2012/03/test.pdf

(for security reasons, clearly the hostname is a dummy here!)

When I click on either 'download' or 'view' I get the following message from my webserver software:

    Error 404

    Not Found

Any ideas why this is happening?

I'd really like to get this resolved because on the face of it this plug-in looks like just what I need to manage our documentation.

Check your server logs. If it's your server software's 404, that means the request is not even hitting WordPress. Problem is someplace in server config / rewrite rules.

OK I'll check that out Ben - thanks for the quick reply :-)
